Each January, used Christmas trees are “recycled” into a large community bonfire in nearby Newbury, the proceeds of which benefit the Newbury Volunteer Fire Department.
Ipswich Ale Brewery is proudly releasing a new warming winter brew, “Defrost.” The product packaging artwork – people gathered around an evergreen bonfire – gives a nod to this winter tradition.
Sixteen ounce cans of Defrost will be available for a limited time. “It will also be the brewery’s primary beer served during the upcoming eighth annual Old Newbury Bonfire,” according to the Newburyport Daily News. The event is set for January 12, 2019 at Tender Crop Farm.
Tender Crop Farm is located at 108 High Road in Newbury, just a 10 minute drive from Newburyport’s Essex Street Inn. Book your stay today to attend this memorable event!
